I have so many great and fond memories of Ivan.He was a very supportive director at the D.S.I.S.D.
Teaching under his direction was a pleasnt experience most of the time. At times he could be a hard task master, but always a friend.
Our sympathy to Jeannie and family, Cliff and Jan Olsson

    Jeannie,
You, Ivan and Jason are in my thoughts and prayers. Much love.

Jeannie, you are in our thoughts and prayers. Love for the Ohlen family.

Ivan’s Mother was 100% Finnish his Dad was 100% Irish. Ivan was thoughtful, reserved, polite, yet frisky, spontaneous, witty and wise. Most of his career was in Jobs training for High School youth and Adults. His knowledge and wisdom and his “Sisu” made him an excellent, efficient and trusted administrator. A longtime member of the “Leaders Of Vocational Education In The Upper Peninsula’, aka LOVE IT UP, many innovative and exemplary training programs were developed at RYANWOOD, his Castle near Skanee…on Lake Superior. All who knew and/or worked with him will cherish wonderful memories of IVAN RUFUS RYAN.

Dear Jeannie & Family, My prayers are with you as Ivan continues his journey to be with the Creator.

Dear Jeannie, I was gone when all of this happened, you and your family are in our prayers. How we know in a blink of an eye our whole world changes forever. God bless you and keep you in his arms at this time. We will see you at the service……hang in there girl, you will find strength you never knew you had, if at any time you need an ear, I’m here.

Thinking of you all today as you gather for Ivan’s funeral service, and sending my deepest sympathies.Dan and Mike – having fond memories of your Dad make me smile, particularly the childhood vacation times spent at Skanee. He afforded us great times together and I will always hold those dear to my heart.
