Ingrid L. Johnson, age 80, passed away Monday evening, February 3, 2014, at her home in Gladstone.
Ingrid was born January 27, 1934, in Marquette, the daughter of Frank and Freda (Larson) Johnson. She was raised in Marquette and was a 1951 graduate of Gravette High School. In December of 1952, Ingrid was united in marriage to Bernard Johnson and together the couple resided in Marquette, for a few years, before moving to Gladstone where they made their home, raised their family and spent their entire lives together. Bernard preceded Ingrid in death on November 16, 1991. Ingrid was a member of All Saints Church in Gladstone. She worked and volunteered many hours at the Gladstone St. Vincent de Paul and was former president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Additionally, Ingrid enjoyed knitting, reading, crossword puzzles, playing Nintendo, following current events and spending time with family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

Daughter: Patti (Gerald) Meyer of Somerset, WI
Brother: Frank Johnson of Marquette, MI
Grandchildren: James (Tianna), Erik, Michael, Steven (Amanda), Katie, Michael, Justice and Jaylin
Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

None of this feels real, just the other day I was on the phone with her singing happy birthday, just the way she’s sang it to me for 18 years and probably everyone else for many more years she’d always be the first person awake to call me and sing. Everytime I’d call she’d think I was Patti, im guessing we sound a lot a like Tia.I’m glad my Grandma got to be here for my highschool graduation, that ment a lot. She always had a story to tell, and an open heart to listen and comfort you. She’d always be awake early drinking a cup of coffee waiting for someone to wake up and join her, and boy did she love her Nintendo Jaylin and her would sit in front of that tv for hours screaming at that television.
Grandma now you can be anywhere you want at anytime and not have to worry about how long the flight will be, you’re now soaring the heavens with beautiful wings watching over all of your babies as they grow. You’ll get to see our success and our falls, and even guide us when we feel lost. I know You’ll never be far because you’re always close in my heart. God has gained one amazing angel. So sorry to hear of the loss of your mother and grandmother. I always enjoyed ‘catching up on news’ with Ingrid. She always was an upbeat and friendly person and seemed to know and remember everyone she met. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Words can not say what this woman meant to me. She was a second Mother to all of us Le Claire kids but she was so much more.
My Mothers best friend for more than 40 years Ingrid was with my Mother until the end. During my Mom’s recent illness, Ingrid still called her 2 to 3 times a week to check up on her.
Last fall I had the pleasure of bringing Ingrid up to Marquette, the laughs we had, the stories she had, that is how I will always remember her.
One of the strongest and most intelligent women I have ever met her influence on those lives she touched will remain with us forever. She always had an ear to listen to you, but boy she could really give it to you when you needed it. One of the great characters in my life, my God Mother, but most importantly always my greatest friend.
Regardless of how long we were away from each other Ingrid always had a way of knowing when there was something bothering me, and she had a way of pulling it out of me.

What great neighbors Ingrid & Bernie were when we lived next door. She never got upset when my Daughter Amy gave Steve a hair cut or should I say chop cut. They were about 3 to 4 years old.
