Hilma Jane Gardner, age 87, of Escanaba passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Hilma was born January 3, 1927 in Ensign, MI, the daughter of Waldamer and Hilma (Magnuson) Anderson. She was united in marriage to Lester Gardner on December 29, 1951 at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Escanaba. In her youth she spent some time working in Chicago and she loved to dance and play the guitar and piano.
Hilma is survived by three daughters, Debbie (Greg) Curran of Escanaba, Yvonne Gardner of Escanaba and Becky (Todd) Dubord of Danforth; six grandchildren, Jamie (Elizabeth) Curran, Brian (Beth) Curran, Joe (Leah) Curran, Jessie (Craig) Weissert, Sara (Brad) Trombley and Krista Dubord; thirteen great grandchildren and two on the way; two sisters, Ann Bert of Escanaba and Eileen (Gary) Schultz of California, a sister-in-law, Lori DeMars of Escanaba and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sisters, Hazel Holm, Evelyn
