Helen was born on May 16, 1941 in Escanaba, the daughter of Rene and Marie (Dehooghe) Derouin. She graduated from Escanaba High School in 1959. Following graduation she moved to Denver and worked for the Serta Mattress Company for 8 years, then moved back home and worked as a seamstress at the Robinson Furniture Company until she retired. Helen enjoyed Bingo, going out to the casino, and going on bus trips with her friends and family. She was passionate about the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR and many crafts of all kinds. Helen was very talented, she got into cake decorating and enjoyed making many cakes in her spare time for her family and friends to enjoy. She was involved with singles & solos and did a lot of activities with them. Helen absolutely adored and loved her poodles.
Helen is survived by her brother Marvin (Kay) Derouin of Thorton, CO, sisters, Marilyn Bosk of Aurora, CO, and Theresa (Bill) Druding of Rapid River, MI and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; Rene and Marie Derouin, sisters, Barbara (Edward) Gosselin and Shirley (Ray) Dufour, brother-in-law, Bill Bosk, niece, Sharon Willette and a great-nephew, Jacob Gosselin.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 17 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services honoring Helen will begin at 4:00 PM with Pastor Bo Lange officiating. Helen will then be laid to rest in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery In Wells.
