Hazel R. Porath, age 80, of Escanaba passed away on Monday, September 2, 2013 at the Bishop Noa Home.
Hazel was born December 19, 1932 in Escanaba, the daughter of Carl and Beulah (Peterson) Larson. She was raised in Escanaba and as an older teen and young adult she lived in Chicago and Omaha, Nebraska. While in Chicago she took care of her niece and worked for the Salvation Army. While in Omaha she ran a candy store. She eventually returned to Escanaba and met her husband, Herbert. They were married on July 12, 1954 at the Salvation Army Temple Corps.
