Gwendolyn Leigh Howlett, age 19, of Gladstone and currently residing in Menominee, passed away early Sunday morning, August 17, 2014, at her home in Menominee.
Gwen was born November 4, 1994, in Escanaba, the daughter of Don and Linda (Osborn) Howlett. She was raised in Gladstone and was a 2012 graduate of Gladstone High School. During her high school years, Gwen belonged to the Gladstone Volleyball Team, and helped with the Indian Education Program for Gladstone Schools. Additionally, Gwen was a passionate figure skater from
the age of three. Gwen excelled and competed in skating throughout the Upper Peninsula and Northern Wisconsin, and skated in 14 ice shows. She also shared her talent through coaching skating. After high school, Gwen
attended Bay College before transferring to NWTC in Marinette, where she was pursuing a degree in accounting. Gwen was a sociable and very loving young lady with sparkling eyes and a huge heart. She loved spending time with her many friends and family, and being outdoors fishing, playing with her dogs, and taking in what the Upper Peninsula offers. She will be sadly and lovingly missed.

I was Gwen’s fourth grade teacher and she was a friend of my daughter’s. I will always remember when Gwen’s dad came in a played the guitar for us and how proud she was! She was intelligent, fun, and a ball of energy! I am so sorry for your loss, may you find some solace in these tributes.
