Gloria Katherine Evans, age 86, of Escanaba passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, March 11, 2016.
Gloria was born January 27, 1930 in Gladstone, the daughter of Isaac and Wanda (Kallerson) Swanson. She was raised in Gladstone and graduated from the Gladstone High School. Gloria was a longtime member of the United Evangelical Covenant Church in Gladstone and a Foster Grandma with the Lemmer Elementary School in Escanaba.
Gloria is survived by two sons, Brian (Bari) Evans of Escanaba and Michael Evans of Crystal Lake, IL; one daughter, Deborah Evans of North Chicago, IL; two grandchildren, Sean and Gavin Evans; one sister, Aldoris LaCarte of Escanaba and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Morice, James and Irving Swanson.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 16 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the United Evangelical Covenant Church in Gladstone. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM at the church with Rev. Nathan Langager officiating. A luncheon will be served following the services in the fellowship hall. Gloria will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.
The family is being assisted by the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.
