Gladys Guindon, age 69, of 8355 Co. Road 416 J. Road, Cornell, died Thursday morning August 10, 2006 at her home in Cornell surrounded by her loving family.
Gladys was born September 24, 1936, in Ensign, the daughter of Axel and Signe (Anderson) Anderson. Gladys was raised in Gladstone and attended the Gladstone schools eventually graduating from the Escanaba Senior High School. On May 25, 1957, Gladys married Leonard Guindon, at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock, and together the couple made their home and raised their family at their residence in Cornell. Throughout her life Gladys worked primarily as a homemaker and also for many years at the St. Vincent De Paul store in Escanaba. She loved crocheting and spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. She will be deeply missed.

1 Son: Curtis Guindon of Cornell, MI
2 Daughters: Linda Guindon of Oshkosh, WI; Debra Guindon-Marunde of Cornell, MI
2 Sisters: Elsie Anderson of Escanaba, MI; Mary Savage of Powers, MI
Also listed among the surviving family are 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 very dear and special friends, Jan Vickstrom of Marquette, MI and Dee Fredricks of Escanaba, MI
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Axel and Signe:
1 Daughter: Debra Jean
3 Brothers: Torvial, Walter and Albert Anderson
1 Sister: Alice Perry
Family will receive friends on Thursday August 17, 2006, from 1:00PM to 3:00PM, at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Gladys Guindon will follow visitation, at 3:00PM, at the Skradski Funeral Home, with Rev. Jonathan Schmidt of the First Lutheran Church of Gladstone officiating. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Guindon family with arrangements.
