Escanaba, MIGladys Emerson, age 97, passed away Sunday morning, January 15, 2017,
at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba where she currently resided.

Gladys was born on July 23, 1919, in Escanaba, to Agnes LaPlante Olson
and Edward Olson. She graduated from Gladstone High School and
Augustana School of Nursing in Chicago. She was Head Nurse of first
floor and later Director of Nursing at St. Francis Hospital, in
Escanaba, until her retirement. Following retirement, Gladys worked
throughout the community taking blood pressures for local citizens.
Gladys belonged to the Elks Lodge and the Escanaba Country Club.
Gladys was united in marriage to Jim Emerson in 1952. They were
married for
60 years.

Daughter: Suzanne (Joseph) Suski of Grosse Pointe Park, MI
Grandchildren: Allyson Suski of Pretoria, South Africa and Joseph
(Jen) Suski of Carlsbad, CA Great Grandson: Andrew Joseph Suski

In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by brothers,
Edward and Tyrus Olson and sisters, Lucille Buckmaster and Lillian
Lundberg.

The Emersons have many beloved nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service for Gladys and Jim will be held at the
Skradski Family Funeral Home, 118 South 12th Street, Escanaba in the
spring. Gladys will be laid to rest in the Lakeview Cemetery in
Escanaba.
