Gilbert Messenger, age 93, former Escanaba resident passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the Evansville Manor in Evansville, Wisconsin.
Private graveside services at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery will be held at the convienence of the family. The Messenger family is being assisted by the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba.

Dear Joyce & Family,I know the struggle you and your family have been through the past couple years. I always felt a special connection between your Dad & I. He was almost always interested in hearing about Sarah, especially when I read to him her emails from her involvement in Haiti. Even when one expects it, the loss of a parent is never easy. Know that you gave what you could to your Dad. I know he loved you. I will miss him.
