Germaine M. Pineau, age 93, former Rapid River and Gladstone area resident, died Sunday, October 10th, 2004 at the Christian Park Village in Escanaba where she was currently residing as a patient.
Germaine was born March 28th, 1911 in Gladstone, the daughter of Camiel and Mary (Lootens) Minne. She was raised in Gladstone and was a 1928 graduate of the Gladstone High School. In 1944, Germaine married Angus J. Pineau at All Saints Church in Gladstone and together they owned and operated their own farm in the Rapid River area from 1944 until their retirement in 1980. She was also employed for Baybank in Gladstone as a book-keeper and stenographer for 17 years. After their retirement, Germaine and Angus returned to Gladstone where they resided since. Angus preceded her in death June 9th, 1984.

In memory of an Aunt who valued family above all else and was always available to lend support. Following my father’s auto accident, it was Aunt Germaine who spent endless hours at Marquette General Hospital with me, providing encouragement and comfort. She was tough and strong, but gentle and caring in a crisis.
