George “Yutz” J. Meyer, age 65, of Escanaba passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2020.
George was born March 2, 1955 in Escanaba, the son of George and Mary (Rodman) Meyer. He was employed for 47 years with Upper Peninsula Concrete Pipe Company in Wells. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, cooking, listening to music, the outdoors, hunting and going to the casino. He also played baseball for many years, was good at giving out advice and was an avid Detroit Tigers and Lions fan.
George is survived by his daughter, Brittany (fiancé Jimmy Matthews) Meyer of Escanaba, son, Nick Meyer of Escanaba, daughter, Jessica Branstrom of Escanaba, son, Tim Beauvais of Escanaba; grandchildren, Caleb, Chloe, Zeph, Melissa and Sky and brother, Mike (Annie) Meyer of Escanaba.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Fred (Tammy) and John Kelker and sister, Barbara Meyer.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 18 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Skradski Family Funeral Home Escanaba. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM.
