George D. Reinwand, age 93, of Rapid River, passed away Monday morning August 10, 2015 in Holly, MI.
George was born August 1, 1922 in Nahma, MI the son of Casper and Rose (Raymond) Reinwand. He was raised in Ensign and graduated from Rapid River High School. Following graduation, George worked in the CCC camps before serving his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II stationed on the U.S.S. St. Louis. He was a survivor of the Pearl Harbor attacks. Upon his honorable discharge, he was a truck driver for Lenertz, Frigo Cheese and Pabst Blue Ribbon.
George was united in marriage to the former Shirley Auiler in October of 1974 in Waterford, MI and they returned to Ensign in 1975. George was a farmer and was the owner of Reinwand Excavating.

So sorry for your loss. I will always remember him from Little League Baseball games at Anderson’s field in Ensign to seeing him as a pillar in our community representing the American Legion. You have so much to be proud of in him. May you find peace in the warm memories that he left you with and in time may you find smiles replacing your tears.
