Frank C. Short, age 93, of 10367 V.05 Road in Rapid River passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba following a brief illness.
Frank was born November 13, 1916 in Olivet, Michigan, the son of Enos and Helen (Crouch) Short. Frank served his country proudly from 1942 to 1945 as a Master Sargeant in the United States Army in the Pacific Theatre of World War II. While in the service, Frank married Betty Rose Blonde on November 9, 1942 in Abilene, Texas. Their union would last for more than 67 years. Frank later worked for the State of Michigan Parks Department from 1950-1977. He was stationed at the Fayette and Twin Lakes State Parks as well as the Porcupine Mountains. Frank was a member of the Rapid River American Legion Post 301 and enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, traveling and spending time with his family.

7 Grandchildren: Terry (Jen) Short, Ronda (Tim) Ettenhofer, Tabatha (Ryan) Agnew, Douglas, John, Scott and Eric Short.
