Francie “Frenchie” Lynn Loper, age 57, of Charlevoix, MI passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the Hiland Cottage in Petoskey, MI.

Francie was born February 6, 1959 in Escanaba, the daughter of Francis “Flop” and Delores “Dee” (Kesick) Dunlop. She was raised in Perkins and graduated from Perkins High School. She also received a Bachelor Degree in Business from NCMC in Petoskey. Francie worked as a cook in several restaurants, as a cashier at the C&C Market and as the culture and language teacher at the Hannahville Indian School for many years. She enjoyed doing bead work, along with other native crafts, rummaging, gambling and spending time with her family as much as she possibly could during birthdays, holidays and special occasions.

Francie is survived by her husband, Marcus Loper Sr. of Charlevoix, two sons, Marcus Loper Jr. of Charlevoix and James (Michelle) Loper of Rapid River; three daughters, Nicole Loper of Charlevoix, Allison (Jeremia) Baker of Alanson, MI and Patricia (Jimmy) Lucas of Fort Worth, TX; 7 grandchildren, Ian, Isla, Emma, Christopher, Keyana, Kenneth and Charles, 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Allan (Judy) Kesick of Escanaba, Larry (Cindy) Couillard of Danforth, Dwayne (Cheryl) Couillard of Arizona, Daniel “Monk” Dunlop and William “Willy” Dunlop, both of Escanaba, and Louise “Lulu” (Chris) Beauchamp of Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, great grandmother, Rose Kesick Boursaw, sister, Cheryl “Pie” Sagataw, brothers, Joe Couilllard and Gary “Yucker” Dunlop.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 9 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home. A time of sharing and closing prayers will follow at 6:00 PM. A luncheon will be served immediately following at the Gladstone American Legion. Francie will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.

    RIP my dear sis. Your suffering has ended, but for now your family’s just begun. I am so thankful for our reconnection in December and the reminiscing of good old times. I love you Fran and baa mama Pii kwabman minwa! Chris and I want to tell Marc and the kids we love you’s and to call if you’s need anything, even if it’s just to talk! Keeping all of you’s in our thoughts and prayers. 🙏🙏🙏
