Evelyn E. Kleiman, age 85, of Escanaba passed away Thursday, May 11. 2017 at the Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba.

 

Evelyn was born April 30, 1932 in Kipling, the daughter of John and Celia (Rantala) Lake Sr. In her younger years she traveled the United States by car and the Hawaiian Islands with her best friend Betty . She enjoyed knitting and crocheting of which she did beautiful work, playing pinochle, attending lunches at the Escanaba Senior Center, and enjoyed spending holidays with family.  She remained very independent throughout her life.

 

 

Evelyn is survived by:

1 Son: Mark (Beth) Kleiman of Gladstone, MI

 

2 Daughters: Sue (Travis) Curry of Meridian, MS

Jeriann Fredrickson of Gulf Port, MS

1 Sister-In-Law: Winifred Lake

Grandchildren: Patti (Ken) Prince, Charles Curry, Jennifer (Jeff) Tessmer, Heather Kleiman, Michael (Stephanie) Kleiman, Genevieve Corbett

And long time friend, Betty Miller

Family will receive friends Monday, May 15, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba. A Funeral Service will follow visiting hours at 4:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba with Pastor Phil Paustian officiating. Evelyn will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Lakestate Industries in Escanaba.

    Dear Aunt Evelyn, You will be sadly missed. You were always sweet to me I will really miss our telephone conversations and just knowing you were always there. Although this is posted late you were always in my thoughts… Rest in peace. I loved you very much just forgot to tell you all the time.

    I’ve been gone since 2016 & since my mom (Laurie Kleiman) passed away in 2016 I feel like you guys disowned me. I’m sorry for the grudges I held against you guys & I’m sorry I never got to apologize in person. Even though we have never been super close your the only grandmother I’ve ever had. Love you gramma! Tell my mom & grandpa I love them!!
