Eugene R. Hansen, age 83, of Rock passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 30, 2024.
Eugene was born October 5, 1940 in Lathrop, Michigan, the son of Berthal and Janey (Tappenen) Hansen. He graduated from the Rock High School in 1959. He served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965. On May 27, 1967 he was united in marriage to Arlene Micheau. Eugene worked as a meat cutter with SuperOne Foods and enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Arlene; his sons, James (Tammy Charles) Hansen, Jeff (Dawna Hensley) Hansen, Jeremy (Maggie) Hansen and Justin Hansen; grandchildren, Owen, Carly, Cole and Riley; great granddaughter, Elaina; brothers, Thorval (Shirley) Hansen and Ted (Gloria) Hansen; sisters, Thora Hansen and Bertha (Dan) Ferry and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Robert, Rudy and Bob Hansen and his sisters, Lois Marple, Audrey Winters, Lu Ontto and Jean Arnett.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 8 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the McFarland Community Center. Military Honors will be presented at 3:00 PM by the Little Lake American Legion Post 349 and US Army Funeral Honors Guard. A luncheon will follow. Eugene will be laid to rest in the Hillview Cemetery in McFarland.
The family is being assisted by the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.
