Esther L. Johnson, age 98, of the Elder Inn in Rapid River, (formerly of Gladstone), passed away Thursday September 12, 2013 at the Elder Inn in Rapid River.
Esther was born September 29, 1914 in Pentoga, MI the daughter of Edward and Anna (Drafts) Camps. She was raised in Nahma where she was a 1931 graduate of Nahma High School. She moved to Gladstone in 1941 where she worked as a nurses aide and a clerk for many years. Esther was a member of the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gladstone and later St. Martin Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rapid River.

Sons: Norman (Sandy) Boutilier of Gladstone and Raymond Boutilier of Melbourne, FL
Daughter: Myrna Besson of Boise, Idaho
Sister: Marcella Camps of Stambaugh, MI
Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents, Ether was preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon Boutilier, second husband, Walter Johnson, son, Norbert, grandson, Mark, granddaughter, Elizabeth and several brothers and sisters.
Private visitation and services will be held on Friday September 20, 2013 at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone with Rev. Philip Paustian officiating. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Escanaba and Gladstone are assisting the Johnson family.

Esther was a wonderful lady, it was fun to go and see her when she moved to the Senior home in Gladstone. She always welcomed us when she was still in her home in Gladstone. She cooked a great dinner for all of us girls who belonged to a 31 Club, how long ago was that? Time has gone so fast. She loved all of her children and grandchildren and would show you the latest pictures of them. God Bless you Esther as the Lord welcomed you home. Sympathy to your family.
