Edna Edithe Yatalese, age 82, former longtime Battle Creek resident, died at the home of her daughter, Debra Young, in the Bay View location; Gladstone on Thursday evening, July 7th, 2005, where she was residing since September 11th, 2004.
Edna was born July 2nd, 1923 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Bertha (Yohe) Franklin and was raised in LaCrosse and had lived in Battle Creek, Michigan until failing health required her to live with family.
She was known to enjoy doing all the usual domestic household duties, but her family fondly remembers her love of doing dishes for herself or anyone. In addition, she enjoyed needlepoint in her leisure. Edna was of the Baptist faith.

2 Daughters-Debra Ann (David) Young of Bay View Location, Gladstone; Judith Lynn Hanson of Battle Creek, MI
1 Son- James Robert Hanson of Battle Creek, MI
6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters in LaCrosse, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her first husband, Leo Guy Hanson, and by her second husband, Leslie Lester Yatalese, in February of 2001.
Services for Edna Yatalese will be held at the convenience of the family.
