Edlie Dubrock

Resided in Iron River, MI
Died April 15, 2022

Edlie Dubrock, age 86, of Iron River passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.

Edlie was born February 9, 1936 in Pontiac, Michigan, the daughter of Ruth and Roy Tyler. At the age of 33 she was united in marriage to John Dubrock on December 20, 1969 in Pontiac. She was known to everyone in her early years as the town walker. Never learning to drive, she would get antsy at home and take off walking where she could name all the streets.

When her husband retired, they moved to the Upper Peninsula and made their home in Iron River. Edlie helped out in the kitchen at the Iron River Senior Center for many years and at Wardos until they closed. She then chose to retire.

One story, Edlie often told was the day she wanted to see how long it would take to walk to her sister and brother-in-laws house, who lived in Crystal Falls. She found out it was a long walk. It took her three and half hours. She was later picked up by her husband.

Edlie is survived by many nieces and nephews including special nieces Bev Lippens of Rock and Shirley (Larry) Pifke and their family of Iron River and two special friends, Lois and Marilyn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, six sisters and four brothers.

According to family wishes there will be a private service at a later date. Burial will be in the Channing Cemetery, where she will join her husband.

The Dubrock family is being assisted by the Skradski Funeral Home of Gladstone.
