Dorothy P. Micheau, age 91, passed away early Saturday morning, February 2, 2013, at the Marquette General Hospital, in Marquette.

Dorothy was born August 19, 1921, in Gladstone, the daughter of Charles and Flossie (Pelkie) Godfrey. She was raised in Gladstone and attended the Gladstone schools. On November 14, 1936, Dorothy was united in marriage to Leon Micheau and together the couple resided in Rapid River, for a short time, before moving to Ford River and finally settling in Gladstone where they remained for many years. Leon preceded Dorothy in death on April 23, 1996. Dorothy was a faithful member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone. She enjoyed going for walks and in later years, she enjoyed participating in activities at Christian Park where she resided for the past year and two months. She will be deeply missed.

Doris Pratt of Escanaba, MI
Brothers: Lyle (Carol) Godfrey of Gladstone, MI
Everette (Beverly) Godfrey of Escanaba, MI
Sister: Evelyn (Mike) Birkholz of Gladstone, MI
Also surviving is special friend, Rosella Burnard of Escanaba, 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Dorothy P. Micheau will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at 1:00PM, at All Saints Catholic Church, in Gladstone, with Rev. Fr. Ronald Timock officiating. Luncheon will follow in the All Saints Parish Hall. Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her husband Leon at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Micheau family with arrangements.

    Barb&Dave, so sorry for the loss of your mother. She was such a sweet lady . I will never foget her kind smile and her cold hand shakes in church! Heaven has truely received an angel. RIP Dorothy.

    My husband, Dick and I used to see Dorothy walking and always stopped to talk to her. We referred to her as the “little walker.” Dorothy was always so upbeat and friendly. Rest in peace, Dorothy.
