Although I never met Dorthy, I feel like I knew her through her daughter, Sandy. From the stories I heard Sandy & her Mother were so much alike. She had a zest for life & enjoyed every second of it. The story that I will never forget is when she went out dancing with her husband about 10 years ago & met some other girls who were much younger than she was. She liked a dress that one of them had on so, they went into the bathroom & exchanged dresses. Her husband got so mad at her he left her there. But, she had fun the entire night. Needless to say, he got over being mad. After raising 7 kids she still had her sense of humor. I guess that is where Sandy gets it. My condolences to all the family. But, I envy anybody that can have a long, happy life like Dorothy had.

    Dear Susie, Brent and family,

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of “good ole’ Dotsy”. She was truly a peach. When I heard the news the first thing I thought of was watching her roller skate to work on the last day of her employment at the bank. Then there was the time her and her partner in crime (Irene Hogan) dressed up like men golfers and put on the most hilarious skit at the Elks. I frequently said I wanted to grow older like her, puffing on a cigarette having a cocktail. She loved to be around people and to have a good time. We loved her like our own Mom. You all were so lucky to have such a sweet loving Mom. You can smile as God loved her so much he wanted her for one of his angels. She’s with her beloved Vinny now and they’re dancing again.

    God Bless you all.

We first met Dottie and Vinnie 40+years ago when we went to Escanaba with Sandra & Dick. We’ve seen them periodically ever since. All the times were full of fond memories with them as well as with some of the members of this close-knit and loving family. It was quite obvious that Dottie was truly the “heart” of this family. She loved each and every one of them dearly. Her enthusiasm for life was infectious and for which we will fondly remember her. She most definitely will be missed by many.

It was a privilege to have known her. So, Dottie, “God loves you, and so did many! Rest in peace!”

To The family of Mrs. Lewis!!

We are the inlaws of her Grandson Michael Lewis. We have only met “Grandma Lewis” once and that was at Mike and Becky’s wedding. But she had such a lasting impression on us! What a lady!!! The words “dignity” and “grace” describe her perfectly! She was such a sweet lady! Her smile would light up the darkest room! I feel like I know her through Mike’s stories and fond memories of “Grandma Lewis” I have never seen a Grandson have such love and admiration for their Grandmother as Michael has for his Grandma.

Bless you all. There must be such a big hole in your hearts! Let God fill it with wonderful memories of this wonderful lady!
