Dorothy H. Erickson, age 94, of Gladstone passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 with her family at her side.

Dorothy was born July 31, 1921 in Stonington, the daughter of John and Alice (Anderson) Leadman. She was united in marriage to Paul Erickson on March 31, 1945 in Stonington. Dorothy was a longtime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Stonington where she taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed spending Sunday afternoons with her family and everybody was always welcome at her home. She also enjoyed playing cards and puzzles.

Dorothy is survived by three sons, Paul of Clarkston, MI, Bob (Barbara) of Escanaba and Glenn (Linda) of Rapid River; two daughters, Beverly (Joe) Columb of Rapid River and Bonnie (Ray) Collins of Escanaba; eight grandchildren, Michael, Rachal, Jeremy, Rob, Glenn Jr., Katie, Jessica and Mason, thirteen great grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Dolores) Leadman of Stonington and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Eleanor Erickson, granddaughter, Samantha Erickson, an infant brother, Carl Leadman, four sisters, Alda (Arne) Anderson, Jennie (Bud) Winchester, Mildred (Art) Nye and Ethel (Herman) Helman, son-in-law, David Kee and daughter-in-law, Kathie Erickson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 15 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 PM at the funeral home with Susan Sundstrom – Young officiating. A luncheon will follow the services at Glenn Erickson’s home in Rapid River. Dorothy will be laid to rest in the Lakewood Cemetery in Stonington.
