Dorothy “Dee” Jean (Rossow) Stus, age 82, of Gladstone went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 10, 2022 after battling lung cancer and an aortic aneurysm. The Hospice Care of St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba made her passing as pain-free and peaceful as possible.
Dorothy Jean was born December 3, 1940 in Detroit, the daughter of Maynard and Aletha (Bernor) Rossow. She was united in marriage to John Carl Stus on February 11, 1961 in East Detroit. In addition to being a devout woman of the Lord, Dorothy held a special place in her heart for Israel and all of God’s chosen. Dorothy truly had a gift of making you feel as though you were the most important and valued person in her world. While those of us left behind will feel loneliness, she’s rejoicing with Jesus now and wouldn’t want us to be sad for her.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, John, of 61 years, her daughters, Dawn Stus, Wendy Tinsley and Kris (Nick) Micheau, 5 grandchildren, Dorothy Grace Tinsley, Stephanie and Daniel Derouin and Skylar and Derik Micheau, 7 great grandchildren, Joslynn, Tanner, Lincoln, Charleigh, Layla, Benjamin and Elijah.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Clifford Reed.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Dorothy will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.
Dorothy’s family would like to offer a special Thank You to Dr. Erik Rubright and Dr. Trish Benson for their years of loving care. Dorothy would want the OSF Hospice and the Beacon House in Marquette to know how much they were appreciated for their care and compassion during her times of need.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dorothy’s name may be directed to OSF Hospice, the Beacon House in Marquette or the American Cancer Society.
The Stus family is being assisted by the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.

We believe the world has lost a great person, her care for others, is well known.. As a friend, it was an honor to teach Dee the basic operation of her back-hoe, loader, and she learned well, and enjoyed every minute that she was in the seat. You will be missed Dee, our prayers are with you, and your family.
