Dorothy Ann Bielik, of Gladstone, passed away on February 4, 2024. She was born in 1946 in Wyandotte, Michigan. She was known as a daughter, sister, niece, aunt, friend, teacher, artist, and Lions fan.
Dottie loved spending her retirement years in her Lake Michigan cottage in the upper peninsula; you could often see Dottie sitting on her front porch reading. Dottie loved gardening, painting, crossword puzzles, reading, shoveling snow, and visiting art museums around the country, especially The Louvre in Paris.
She was the daughter of the late Casimir and Mary Bielik of Wyandotte. She is survived by sister Debra (Ricky) Mitchell of Rock, MI, nieces Tiffany (Matt) Romagni of Ohio, Jennifer (Kyle Reidenga) Mitchell of Gladstone, and many other nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. She was a dear friend of Pam and David Cieslak of Rockwood, MI, Jim and Theresea Dobson of Sterling Heights, MI, Diane and Gregg Lampe of Rockwood, MI, and Cindi and Kevin Jacobson, her neighbors in Gladstone.
She was a teacher at Downriver High School and Graphic Artist for Wayne County School District in Highland Park, MI. She was a graduate of Art Education at Eastern Michigan University. Dottie lived to be 77 years old and never got to see her beloved Detroit Lions in the Super Bowl. She loves yellow roses, peanut M&Ms, run, Michelangelo, her nephew and all her nieces and nephews, and especially all of her students.
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents Casimir and Mary Bielik, one niece, and her spoiled and very much loved cat “Baby”.
In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Bielik family.
