Donna D. Rafuse, age 70, of Rapid River, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at home.

Donna was born March 4, 1952, in Lamesa, TX, the daughter of Aubrey and Allene (Salser) Davis. She was united in marriage to William Rafuse on December 29, 1973 in Antioch, CA.

Donna was a devoted and faithful pastor’s wife. The couple served and ministered in Windsor, MA., Bozrah, CT., Lebanon, CT., and made their final home in Rapid River at the Rapid River Congregational Church for the last 26 years.

The light of Donna’s life was her family. She loved being a mother and grandmother.

In addition to her loving husband, Bill, Donna is survived by:
2 Sons: Paul (Caitlin) Rafuse Waterford, CT
James (Bobbie Jo) Rafuse of Rapid River, MI
2 Daughters: Michelle (Steve Constantino) LaMarque of Rapid River, MI
Martha (John Hutchison) Blomstrom of Welch, TX
1 Brother: Michael Davis of CA
10 Grandchildren: Brandon Rafuse, Kendra (Corey) Dahn, Savannah (Chris) Parr, Deven Rafuse, Austin Rafuse, Jacy Hutchison, Dante Rafuse, Jeanelle Hutchison, Gannon Rafuse and Jenevieve Hutchison
And 1 Great Grandchild: Josephine Grace Dahn

Donna is preceded in death by her Parents.

Family will receive friends on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 10:00 AM until Noon at the Rapid River Congregational Church. A memorial service will follow at Noon and a luncheon will follow at the Rapid River Lions Club. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Rafuse family.

    We had the pleasure of being neighbors of both Bill and Donna when they served at Bozrah. Donna also worked with us at Odetah and gave us many a chuckle. May her memories bring joy to Bill and their children.

    Donna Dee was my life-long friend. Such a sweet, precious lady. I have so many memories growing up & going to stay weekends with her in Hobbs. She will be greatly missed but she is in no more pain & rejoicing with her precious parents.

    I pray for your family but know Donna is no longer in pain and she is watching over all of you.

    I was so lucky to see Donna year after year at our annual meetings. We had a chance to catch up and encourage each other. She was a good friend and will be missed.

    My thoughts and prayers are with my brother Bill and family. Donna was such a special lady who could make anyone feel that she cared about them. She loved her family with all her heart including our entire family through out the country. She was such a role model for her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter JoJo who called her gigi. She was the most perfect pastor’s wife and supported her church family and all those she knew. Donna I will miss you and the wonderful talks we had since you joined our family. RIP with our wonderful God and your parents and family members who have passed before you.

    I am so very sorry for your loss!! Donna was such a sweetheart!! I fell in love with her the 1st day I met her years ago!! She was sassy and I loved it!! You are all in my prayers and have been!! God bless and comfort you through this time!!

    Donna was a dear friend . I will always remember her voice, her laugh , and her smile. Our days at church camp when she was our counselor will always be remembered as will our days cruising and having cherry cokes at Fosters Freeze ,and attending church revivals in other towns near by. My deepest condolences to her Family.
