Donald J. Weber, age 93, of Gladstone, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.

Donald was born October 27, 1927 in Escanaba, the son of Harold and Rose (Chartarnd) Weber. He graduated from St. Joe’s High School in Escanaba and from there joined the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged and worked as a conductor for Escanaba and Lake Superior Railroad for most of his life until retirement. He was united in marriage to Irene Weber on July 10, 1947 and together they shared 68 years of wonderful memories. Donald was a devoted parishioner of the All Saints Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and belonged to the Gladstone Golf Club, and he also belonged to the Gladstone American Legion. Donald loved watching the Green Bay Packers games. He was a devoted husband and father, and will be deeply missed by many.

Donald is survived by his daughter Ann Weber of Gladstone, MI, brother James (Marlene) Weber of Escanaba, MI, brother-in-law Bill (Joyce) Waeghe of Gladstone, MI, sisters-in-law Betty and Angel Waeghe, both of Gladstone, MI, and Tom (Diane) Berlinski who was like a son to him. Donald is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Irene, sister Mary Picard, and brothers Clarence Weber and Harold Weber Jr. Brothers- in- Law: Louis, Edmund (Bea), and Robert Waeghe.

The Weber family invites friends to a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, Jan. 20th, at 4:00 PM at the All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone with Rev. Fr. Jamie Ziminski officiating. There will be a luncheon to follow in the parish hall. Donald will be laid to rest in Fernwood Cemetery in Spring of 2020. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Weber family.

    So sorry for your loss. Wendy and I sat by him during Mass at Bishop Noa several times. Remember him from Gladstone golf club. Very funny guy. Our condolences to family.
