David LeRoy Smith, 69, of Lansing Mich. passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, May 24, 2016, in Gladstone. He was born September 12, 1946, in Lansing, son of the late Alfred and Maxine (Munroe) Smith.
Dave graduated from Haslett High School, Class of 1965, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed with the State of Michigan and retired after 20 years of service. Dave loved auctions and traveling, especially the Upper Peninsula. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Roger W. Duncan and John H. Duncan.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his daughter, Tracy (David) McDade; sister, LeeAnn (Shaun) Dickey and Dianne Smith; sister-in-law, Lonna Duncan; his fiance`, Cheri Thompson and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services for Dave will be held Friday, September 16, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at Fernwood Cemetery, Gladstone. Rev. Fr. Jamie Ziminski of All Saints Catholic Church will officiate.
