David Larry Gardner, 56, of Lansing, Michigan, formerly of Flat Rock, died December 13, 2015, after a short illness, while awaiting an organ transplant.
David was born October 9, 1959, in Escanaba, the son of Bill and Mona (Nelson) Gardner. He grew up in Flat Rock and graduated from Gladstone High School.
David was strong in his faith, generous and kind-hearted. His love for the Green Bay Packers could not be matched, and every room of his home was painted in official NFL Green and Gold. He lived in Lansing, Michigan with his beloved cat, Smokey. He had a special bond with his great-niece Sidney, and enjoyed spending his weekends golfing and watching the Packers win.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Gardner, a sister, Sherry Berndt, a brother Randy Gardner, and his Grandparents.
He is survived by his mother, Mona Gardner, brothers Robert (Cindy) Gardner and Steve (Denise) Gardner, and sisters Debbie Maskart, Lisa (Barry) Bjorkman, and Nicole (Tim Bauknecht) Gardner and many nieces and nephews.
You are invited to wear your Packer colors and clothing to the celebration of David’s life. David

Trent and I will miss Dave greatly. Dave spoke his mind but he would also listen to what you had to say. The Super Bowl game won’t be the same, and I known he will be cheering on “the Packs” every game. Love and miss you Dave.
