David L. Schwartz

Resided in Nahma, MI
Died October 4, 2020

David Leonard Schwartz, age 53, of Isabella passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at the UP Health System in Marquette.

David was born May 19, 1967 in Warren, Michigan, the son of Leonard and Patricia (Moore) Schwartz. He achieved a degree from Bay de Noc College and went on to attend Northern Michigan University with a Presidential Scholarship until 1992.

The past few years were very special for David, he got to watch his son get engaged and go on to get married. Just recently he was given the news he would be a grandfather in April, he was so excited and anxious to spoil his new grandchild. He was an avid outdoorsman and had a craft for every season of the year. Summers were for keeping up his gardens, helping out his parents next door and working on the beach or in the woods. Winters would provide him his relaxation with ice fishing and snowmobiling. David was a thoughtful and genuinely helpful man for anyone in need. His dog Lily was his closest companion, it wasn’t often you’d see David without her by his side. He offered her a very comfortable, spoiled and above all, happy life.

Most of David’s life was built right off the beaches of Lake Michigan at his parents’ home. He decided to live next door to always be there for them when they needed it. David raised his son on the same beach, housed many cherished pets and worked hard to make his life here more enjoyable.

David is survived by his son, David (Meghan) Schwartz of Seymour, WI; a grandchild on the way; his parents, Leonard “Butch” and Patricia Schwartz of Isabella; Uncle Pete Moore of Covington, MI; cousins, Andrew (Jenna) Moore, Jimmy (Mindy) Moore and John (Leighann) Moore all of Isabella, Paul Moore of Covington, MI and Patrick (Jessica) Moore of Marquette and second cousins, Edward, Melody, Tamara, Ashley, Samantha, Amanda and Matthew Moore.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Beatrice Moore, his paternal grandparents, Lester and Dulcie, Schwartz and his uncles, David, Edwin and Jimmy Moore.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 17 from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM with Rev. Duane Wils officiating.

Masks and social distancing are required upon entering the Skradski Funeral Home.

David, we will miss you very dearly. Had a wonderful summer with all of our eating at your moms, Dave’s wedding, our little talk sessions, sitting by the fire, and our many times of eating out and visiting. Letting go of you at the hospital was very hard, but, your suffering was also to watch. You are now in the hands of God and he will take care of you and save us a place up there. We all loved you very much. Uncle Pete, Paul, Patrick, Jess, Edward, and Melody. Love you.
