David E. Koski, age 79, of Rock passed away at home on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.

David was born May 23, 1938 in Negaunee, Michigan, the son of Emil and Elsie (Rajala) Koski. He graduated from Rock High School in 1956 and was Valedictorian of his class. David served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1961-63. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Sayen on February 3, 1962 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Perkins. David was a member of the Rock American Legion Post 559 and the Rock Lions Club. He loved going to camp, hunting, tractors, horses and mowing the lawn. He also enjoyed watching Westerns and “The Young and the Restless”.

David is survived by his sons, David (Colleen Koski of Green Bay and Dean (Julie) Koski of Rock; his daughter, Julie Koski of Rock; grandchildren, Stephen, Andrew (Ashley), Mitchell, Owen, Holly, Carly, Cheveney and Landry; great grandchild, Layla; his brother, Robert (Marlene) Koski of Rock; his sister Nancy Jokela of Rock and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by wife, Elizabeth, his parents and his brother-in-law, Al Jokela

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 25 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Faith Lutheran Church in Rock. Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM with Pastor Rell Spickerman officiating. David will be laid to rest in the Rock Cemetery following the services with Military Honors presented by the Rock American Legion Post 559. A luncheon will be served in the church fellowship hall.

The Koski family is being assisted by the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.

    So sorry about David. He was a nice man. One year, he saw I had no Chistmas tree, and he came over later with a tree for me! So sweet! I went though old photos mother’s day weekend, David was in some pics my dad took out at camp. Good memories. I always liked your dad. My sincere condolences to you Julie, David, Dean and family.
