David Allen Tuyls, age 61, of Gladstone passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022 at the UP Health System in Marquette.

David was born May 18, 1961 in Escanaba, Michigan, the son of Harold and June (Kositzke) Tuyls. He grew up in Cornell where he met his sweetheart, Brenda Plouff. They were united in marriage on May 11, 1985. Dave was one of a kind and anybody who met him never forgot him. He could fix anything, build anything, and complete any task he put his mind to. Dave loved his music, Miller-Lite, and driving around in his Chevelle. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson, his “pride and joy”, Maverick.

David is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughters, Brooke (Cullen) Loman, Brittany (Remi) Hunt and Angela Tuyls; grandchildren, Maverick, Livia, and Lillian; sisters Diane (Bob) Viau and Betty (Gary) Lantagne, brother Pete (Cherie) Tuyls and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 23 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 PM.
