We met at 6th grade camp and became great friends. The 1st time I was invited over they, Danielle, Cheryl, Ted, Seth and I had to bale hay. I had never lifted anything heavier than 5lbs before so I, of course, couldn’t lift a bale of hay. From then on I was labeled the “city girl”. I cannot count the number of times I spent over her house or her over mine. We spent many a night drinking Asti we snuck from her mom, laughing about how cool we thought we were. She taught me how to ride a horse, put on makeup, and what it felt like to have a best friend. I loved Danielle and her family. They all treated me like family and I always knew if I needed anyone to lean on they would hold me up. Danielle and I lost touch in high school and I never thought that the next time I would be talking to her mom would be under these circumstances. Her name has brought memories to the surface that I have laughed and sighed about over the last few days. I am so sorry I couldn’t make it to honor her memory but please know I am there in thought and prayer.

Danielle was my kind of girl! I only lived in the U.P. for one year for my job, but she was the only girl I could really confide in! She always had amazing advice, and most importantly, she knew how to party! She never stopped talking about her 2 boys. Her life truely revolved around her family. I will always remember her. To the family and friends, I am so sorry for your loss. We can’t explain why she’s gone, but find comfort in knowing she is in a better place and watching over us always!
