Claude William Alexander, 70, of Gladstone, (formerly of Brampton) passed away Sunday evening May 8, 2016 at home following a lengthy illness with cancer.

Claude was born May 15, 1945 in Escanaba, MI the son of Arthur and Blanche (DeSherman) Alexander. He was a 1963 graduate of Perkins High School and he worked various jobs following graduation and later served in the Michigan National Guard from 1965 to 1971. Claude later worked and retired from Harnischfeger Corporation in Escanaba.

Claude was united in marriage to the former Theresa Kossow on June 20, 1972 and they made their home on the family farm in Brampton where they raised their 3 children. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Perkins and his hobbies included hunting and fishing. Claude was very faithful reciting the Rosary and loved spending time with his family.

14 grandchildren: Claude (Cassidy) Alexander of Escanaba, Jonathon Alexander of Oregon, Julie Alexander of Milwaukee, WI, Anthony Trepasso of Crystal Falls, MI Caleb and Quinton Alexander of Marshfield, WI, Theresa (Glen) Green of Escanaba, Milinda (Randy) Johnson of Escanaba, Earl McNally Jr. of Rapid River, Breanne, Brittany, Joseph, Zachariah and Mary McNally of Rapid River, step grandchildren, Michael, William and Maria Mulligan of St. Clair, MI

6 great grandchildren: Hailey Trepasso of Crystal Falls, MI, Glen Lawrence and Elizabeth Green of Escanaba, Melissa Johnson of Escanaba and Amelia McNally of Rapid River.

In addition to his parents, his grandson, Matthew Michael Alexander preceded Claude in death.
