Died April 30, 2021

Charles Leslie Peterson, age 75, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 due to natural causes at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Green Bay.

Charles was born August 16, 1945, in Escanaba, MI, the son of Leslie “Dutch” and Eileen Alma (Johnson) Peterson. He graduated in the first class of the new Escanaba High School in 1963. He furthered his education at Bay College and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in May of 1966 and Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor’s Degree.

Charles was a teacher in Perkins. He was also a manager at the Terrace Bay Inn, the Log Cabin, and the Highland Golf Club.

One of Chuck’s big accomplishments was working alongside his Dad as they built his home on the Escanaba River. Chuck was very active and always stayed busy. Chuck was not fond of the long winters here and always wanted to become a snowbird, but he always stayed.

Chuck enjoyed taking rides to Green Bay and Marquette. He also loved spending time with his family.

Chuck is survived by:
Sister: Linda E. (Jim) Bonifas of Ford River, MI
Nieces: Sara (Corey) Lueneburg and Kate Bonifas.
And Great Niece: Camree

Chuck was preceded in death by his Parents.

There will be a family service at a later date. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Peterson family.

I worked with Chuck many years ago at the Terrace. He was a really nice guy. So sorry to hear of his passing. You have my deepest sympathy.

So sorry to hear of Chuck passing. I worked with him a long time ago, at the Terrace. He was such a great man. We found we had common relatives. I am a first cousin to Evelyn Peterson. Thinking back, that is the last time I saw Chuck, was at Eve’s funeral. You have my deepest sympathy.
