Cecile M. Meyette, age 92, of Gladstone, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2022 at Murray’s Country View AFC in Gladstone.

Cecile was born November 18, 1929, the daughter of Henry and Rose (Caron) Bussineau. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1948. On August 20, 1949, she was united in marriage to Bert Meyette. He preceded her death on July 31, 1995. Together they had seven children, Nancy (Jim) Grondine of Powers, Ronald (Donna) Meyette of Escanaba, David (Terri) Meyette of Gladstone, Kenneth Meyette of Gladstone, Pam (Glen) Meunier of Escanaba, Cheri (Fred) Robinson of Gladstone, and Wendy (Matt) Marmalick of Gladstone.

Cecile is also survived by her brother Harold (Sylvia) Bussineau of Portland, Oregon, sister-in-law Rose Marie Pirlot, 14 grandchildren; Jennifer (Paul) LaChance, Christopher Dupey, Greg Dupey, Jessie (Steve) Gartland, Melissa (Jeremy) Harvey, Angela Meyette, Samantha (Charles) Berube, Joshua (Kathryn) Meyette, Brian Meunier, Eric (Kari) Meunier, Brad (Rachel) Robinson, Craig (Tressa) Robinson, Cory (Shayna) Marmalick, Halie (David) Falish, 22 great grandchildren; Hunter Gasman, Bon LaChance, Danielle Dupey, Eli Dupey, Shannon Pupour, Anna Gartland, Jacob Gartland, Cameron Gartland, Tessa Harvey, Spencer Harvey, Elliott Harvey, Alexis (Ryan) Hughes, Sasha Berube, Josalyn Meyette, Jackson Meyette, Jack Meunier, Gracie Robinson, Owen Robinson, Ava Robinson, Sawyer Robinson, Miley Marmalick, and Graham Falish, and another great grandchild coming in the summer.

Cecile is also survived by 2 great-great grandchildren, step grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cecile is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Fernant (Lawrence) Chouinard, Bernadette (Frank) Thomas, Millie (Isadore) Guenette, Jeanette (Leonard) Goertzen, Lawrence Bussineau, and Leo Bussineau, grandson Tony Meyette, and 2 great-grandchildren; Dusten and Laela Berube.

Cecile enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and playing cards. She treasured her ceramics and lovely handmade porcelain dolls. In her earlier years she also loved walking, cross country skiing, and traveling. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, sister, and aunt. She will be missed by all.

She was a lifelong member of Holy Family Parish and Holy Family Altar Society. The family would like to thank everyone at Murray’s Country View for the care and compassion they gave Cecile as she resided there over the last two months. Also, they would like to thank the U.P. Home Health and U.P. Health Hospice.

Family will receive friends on Monday, January 31, 2022, from 2 PM to 4 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial honoring Cecile will follow at 5 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock with Rev. Fr. Sebastian Chacko officiating. There will be a luncheon to follow in the parish hall.
