Carole Ann (VanVlerah) Wedell, age 79, of Gladstone, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, April 28, 2024, at Lake View Assisted Living Facility in Gladstone, with her loving daughter Pamela by her side.
Carole was born June 25, 1944, in Belding, MI, the daughter of Frank and Pearl (Hall) VanVlerah. On July 7, 1962, Carole was united in marriage to Paul Wedell Sr. and eventually the couple made their home and raised their family in Gladstone.
Carole worked as a teller at Bay Bank in Gladstone for many years before her retirement. She was a member of 1st Lutheran Church in Gladstone and served on the 1st Lutheran Church Altar Guild. Additionally, Carole belonged to the Gladstone Senior Center where she enjoyed bingo and teaching knitting.
Carole was deeply loved by her family and will be forever missed.

Son: David (Sheila) Wedell
Daughter: Pamela (Jon) Bergeron
Grandchildren: Christopher, Heidi, Callie and Tara
Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins
In addition to her loving husband Paul, Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Pearl and her sister, Janice Dean
Carole’s family will receive friends on Friday May 3, 2024, from 12:00PM to 2:00PM, at First Lutheran Church in Gladstone. Funeral services will follow visiting hours, at 2:00PM, at First Lutheran Church in Gladstone, with Pastor Elisabeth Daniels officiating. Luncheon will follow in the First Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting with arrangements. Contributions in Carole’s name may be directed to the Wedell Educational Scholarship Fund. Envelopes will be available throughout visiting hours and at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.
