In 1970, they moved the family to Gladstone, MI and opened Gray Jewelers in the Delta Plaza mall. Carol also received her nursing license in 1979. She was passionate about her pets, gardening, and her family.

A lover of nature, Carol spent countless hours tending to her garden, feeding the deer and the birds, where she found peace and joy in nurturing the living things she cherished. Her beloved dogs, Beau and Max; her crazy kitties, Ellie, Maggie and Luna, who were her constant companions.
Throughout her life, Carol had an adventurous spirit. She loved to travel, exploring new places and creating memories with family and friends along the way. Our heats are heavy to hear of your loss. Carol was such a kind, loving person and will definitely be missed! We met Carol and Bob shortly after we moved to Escanaba in 1970.Bob and Mike were Jaycees, and we knew the whole family from their jewelry store. Our children grew up together until we moved to Marquette, but we still kept in touch. Carol was a very fun person and loved her children passionately. She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her.

Our 3 kids referred to her as ‘Grandma Carol’. She never forgot to put Halloween treats in the mailbox for them every year. She always had treats for the dogs too. Our deepest sympathy to her family.

Deepest sympathy to the Darmogray families. Carol was the kindest person. Many memories of talking with her over the years. I’m sure she will be deeply missed . May she rest in peace. Love and prayers to you all.

So sorry for your loss. Your mom was always a great lady and always willing to let me tag along with Jackie for anything we were into. Always a Mom of us Kipling gangsters!!!

There were many stories about Carol but these are a few that I thought would be of interest.
Carol & I were assigned to gather up the scraps of wood inside and outside the house on Penrose that were laying around from the guys, dad, Eddy, Bill & Uncle John while cutting the lumber.
Carol spent a lot time at Grandma Kayko’s helping her in the kitchen and out in the garden planting, weeding, watering and picking the fruits and veggies in the early fall.
The letters she wrote me while I was in the military, keeping me up to date on the family happenings.
The visits to Gladstone with the kids & working on the house.
I remember on one visit while Carol & Sarah took the kids to the store, I decided to clean up the kitchen after breakfast. When they returned Carol got mad because I didn’t put things back in the same place. She told me that the kitchen was off limits, only show up to eat.
Finally, when she came down to help mom get things organized, after dad passed away & to move to assisted living. That was a great help because ma was being uncooperative.
Carol, Me & Sarah will miss you very much. Especially the phone calls & the cards with pictures of the grandkids.
Be at peace for you have gone to your reward.
    Bob & Sarah Paul
