Carol L. Allsworth, age 84, of Bark River, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, July 17, 2023, at Christian Park Village.
Carol was born on September 21, 1938, in Gladstone, Michigan, the daughter of Wayne and MaDonna (DeRosha) Sundalius. On July 21, 1956, Carol was united in marriage to Gerald Allsworth at First Lutheran Church in Gladstone. Together, they shared 64 and a half years before Gerald’s passing in 2021. Carol worked for most of her life in the food industry, mainly as a cook at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba. Carol also loved to go to rummage sales and thrift shopping. She enjoyed sewing and even made most of her kids’ clothes as they grew up. Carol was a talented guitar player and singer and would often volunteer to play at Bishop Noa Home and various other places in town. Carol went on the trip of a lifetime to Germany in 1984. A trip she reminisced on often. But most of all, she cherished her family. She will be deeply missed by many.
Carol is survived by her children, Michael (Andrea) Allsworth of Brandenton, FL, Jim (Donna) Allsworth of Flat Rock, Peggy Jandro of Albuquerque, NM, Wendy (Don) Shearer of Albuquerque, NM, Sandra (Peter) Gannon of Bark River, and Lynn (James) Cousineau of Riverland; brothers Jerry Sundalius and Jim Sundalius; sister Lorraine “Toots” Oberthalar; grandchildren, Dana Maussa, Jason Gustafson, Nathaniel Gannon, Emily Chouinard, Amy Stoerck, Katie Deiter, Jayme Cousineau, Samantha Williams, Francis Allsworth, Devin Shearer, Zackery Shearer; and great-grandchildren, Hani Maussa, Laila Maussa, Ethan Chouinard, Vince Chouinard, Henry Chouinard, Cloey Martin, Kolton Stoerck, Lincoln Dieter, and Ellie Shearer.
