What a kind and gentle soul! Carl will be so missed at our morning breaks-there was nothing quite as infectious as getting him to really laugh. May he rest in peace.

Carl was a unique friend who I will never forget. His knowledge was of such a wide variety that if anyone in the courthouse had a question we could always ask Carl, he would know. I will miss his calm personality and his smiling face across the hall. God Bless Dar and his family. Sorry I can’t be there for the funeral but will pray for you all.

Please pass along my condolences to Carl’s family. I read of his passing in the Daily Press this afternoon, and I wanted his family to know that I remember him fondly from St. Stephen’s church. Although I have not been in regular attendance over the last several years, I really enjoyed his sermons when I was able to catch a service. I thought he was a very eloquent speaker, and I can remember thinking that he was one of the few lecturers whom I actually “tuned into.” I will miss his intellectual musings, and I will miss him as well.

    Sincerely,
    –Kris Lofquist
