Bryan R. Blixt, age 76, of Gladstone passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 20, 2019.

Bryan was born March 24, 1943 in Escanaba, the son of Edward and Helen (Anderson) Blixt. He graduated from Escanaba High School in 1961. He was united in marriage to Pamela Artley on February 12, 1966 at the Central United Methodist Church in Escanaba. Bryan served in the Army National Guard, Company E 107th Engineer Battalion of Gladstone and the Army Reserves from 1963 to 1969. He served as Vice President of State Bank of Escanaba, attended Memorial United Methodist Church in Gladstone, was a member of the Gladstone Golf Club and Escanaba Kiwanis and enjoyed woodworking.

Bryan is survived by his wife, Pam of Gladstone, children, Kristin (Dennis) Cannoot of Marquette, Michael Blixt of Houston, Texas and Kathy (Charles) Carlson of Escanaba; grandchildren, Emily and Alex Cannoot, Joshua, Jacob and Jordan Blixt and Grace and Noah Carlson; one great grandchild, Shane Blixt; siblings, Beverly (Gary) Quick of Gladstone, Connie (Dave) Alspach of Nebraska, Karen (Darrell) Hall of Ocala, Florida and Richard (Ethel) Blixt of Escanaba and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death his parents and brothers, Wendell and Wayne.

The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, April 27 from 2:00 PM to 3:45 PM at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Gladstone. Military Honors will be presented at 3:45 PM by the Gladstone American Legion Post 71. Memorial services will follow at 4:00 PM with Pastor Tim Wright officiating. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall.

The Blixt family is being assisted by the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.

    I’m sincerely sorry for the entire family. I knew Bryan from the business world. He always treated those many clients with sincere respect. I always enjoyed my sales calls with him. A gifted man will truly be missed. Bless your family.
