Betty L. Palmquist, age 88, of Gladstone passed away at home on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. She was born in Grand Rapids, the daughter, John and Cora (Beukema) Dekker. She was raised by her Uncle Henry and Jennie Beukema. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Gladstone and belonged to the Ladies Group and loved spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by her children, Steve (Vicki) Wigger of Zachary, LA, Randy (Jodi Canney) Wigger of Rapid River, Scott (Beth) Wigger of Sobieski, WI and Jodie (Randy) Di Piazza of Cedar Springs, MI; a step-daughter, Sharon Ambeau of Escanaba; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ken Vanhekken of Jenison, MI and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Werner Palmquist, parents, brothers, Jason and Irwin Dekker, sister, Joyce Vanhekken, sister, Jean Dykstra of Grand Rapids, MI; sister/cousin, Neva Schuel, daughter-in-law, Robin Wigger, brother-in-law, Jay Dykstra and sisters-in-law, Donna and Izzy Dekker.
According to Betty’s wishes there will be no visitation and a service will be held later at the convenience of the family.
The family is being assisted by the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.
