Betty Lou Kempf, age 89, of Gladstone, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 21, 2023 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.
Betty was born on June 27, 1933, in Bark River, MI, the daughter of Peter and Maleda (Schoenherr) Newhouse, Sr.
Betty enjoyed baking, knitting, and making baskets. She also enjoyed doing crafts and crocheting. Betty enjoyed senior line dancing and being a reading buddy at the Gladstone library. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Gladstone.

Daughter: Cheryl Moore of Escanaba, MI
Brother: Bernard (Janice) Newhouse of Bellevue, NE
Sister: Barbara (James) Popour in Sault Saint Marie, MI
7 Grandchildren: Sarah (Scott) Rowell, Johnathan Moore, Patrick (Sarah) Kempf, Jennifer (Michael) Humphries, Jeffery (Sarah) Zich, Heather (Timothy) McKay and Jerie (Jason) Glass.
12 Great Grandchildren
And numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services will follow at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Gladstone at 1:30 PM. A light luncheon will follow in the church hall.
Betty will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Delta County Animal Shelter. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Kempf family.

Such a lovely Lady! I was Betty’s hairdresser for a number of years until my retirement. We had wonderful conversations, laughs ,and she always had my Kitty cat on her lap when her hair was drying. Rest in Peace sweet Lady !

I have a lot of wonderful memories of your mom. We lived just a block away. Saw her at the Senior center and the Manor where she lived. Bless her heart, may she rest in peace. Your mom was a very nice person, she will be missed.
