Betty C. Reno, age 86, of Kipling, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2020, at her home with her loving family by her side.
Betty was born November 14, 1933, in Escanaba, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Lasnoski) Trottier. Betty grew up and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Escanaba, Michigan. On September 11, 1954, Betty was united in marriage to Earl Reno, and together they made 63 years of wonderful memories. Betty worked for several years as the clerk for Northern Motor Company. She also was a Girl Scout Leader and was employed by the organization. She was a devoted parishioner of All Saints Catholic Church, a member of the Bishop Baraga Circle, and was a part of the Gladstone Golf Club’s Golden Girls League. Betty loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities, golfing, gardening, decorating and architecture, and spent many summers, all summer long, camping with her family. She will be deeply missed by so many.
Betty is survived by her children, Robert (Denise) Reno of Pulaski, WI, Lori (Bill) Megow of Manitowoc, WI, and Mary (Scott) Reno-Maki of Gladstone, brother James (Mary Sue) Trottier of New Holstein, WI, sister Susan (Terry) Bennitt of Newport Beach, CA, grandchildren Earl (Amanda) Reno, Corey (Will) Yackel, Andrew (April) Megow, Erik (Julie) Megow, and Alexandrea Platias, great-grandchildren Wyatt Reno, Elden Megow, Greta Megow, Bernard Megow, Bodhi Yackel, and Axel Yackel, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Reno, her parents Robert and Mary (Lasnoski) Trottier, and her infant son Thomas Reno.
Betty’s family will receive friends on Friday, July 24, 2020 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Following visiting hours, Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon at All Saints Catholic Church of Gladstone with Rev. Fr. Jamie Ziminski officiating. Due to the current mandate, masks must be worn during the time of visitation and also for mass. Betty will be laid to rest in Gardens of Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s name can be directed towards the St. Vincent dePaul food bank and can be made at https://www.stvincentdepaul.net/give/donate. What a special woman and her family as well. Many years ago I met these folks camping at Camp 7. Betty was so kind and likable. When visiting I would see her at church, always a friendly hello.
My condolences to the family. She will never be forgotten.

Betty and Earl were two of the finest people we have met and enjoyed spending time with when we were in town with my mom, Bev. They were the best example of love and becoming one in life. You will be missed but knowing you will be back together gives us some comfort. Our love and prayers are with you and your family.
