Kathy and family-Sending our deepest condolences. Peace and prayers to you and the family.

Because of movies and books I never liked the words step-mother or halfsisters as they always made it sound like someone was bad. Bernice came
to our house at a very young age to take care of me, a 3 1/2 year old
girl named Melanie and her baby sister Jeanne who was only a few weeks
old at the time. We were known as the motherless children for a long
time. We had our ups and downs and most of the time I was on the down
side, but as time went by three more sisters came into our lives and
changed us all completely. I really liked learning how to care for them
but soon the time came for me to leave to go to school and then marry and
have a family of my own. We always went back to Gladstone for visits and
vacations and as we grew older developed a bond of love and trust that I
cannot explain. Most of my family is gone now and I am sure they are in a
better place, and the time will come when I will join them. So until we
meet again rest in peace Nana rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are
    with you all.
    Love Melanie Sullivan

All of our thoughts and prayers are with the family right now. I hope that all is taken care of, and if not please holler and we will do what ever we can. We will miss Bernice and her very infectious laughter. Take care Bill Sullivan
