Barbara A. Phalen, age 89, of Gladstone, MI, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Lakeview Assisted Living in Gladstone.
Barb is survived by:
Daughter: Rhonda (Tom) Dykowski of Gladstone, MI
Brother: David (Linda) Chernick of Escanaba, MI
2 Sisters: Olga DeGrand of Marquette, MI
Jean DeGrand of Escanaba, MI
And Several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren
In addition to Barb’s Parents, Nicholas and Mary (Warchena) Chernick, she is preceded in death by:
Husband: David Phalen
3 Brothers: Nick, John, and Wesley Chernick
2 Sisters: Ann Pinozek and Helen Ryan
The family would like to extend a thank you to the amazing staff at Lakeview Assisted Living and the U.P. Health and Hospice Nurses for the wonderful care given to Barbara.
Private visitation will be held at the convenience of the family upon Barbara’s request. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Noon at All Saints Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Jamie Ziminski officiating. Barbara will be laid to rest at Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Phalen family.

My Aunt Barb is sweet, kind, determined, smart, a bit of rascal and just as beautiful inside as out; and how can you forget that laugh!
I hold so many memories in my heart of times I have spent with her; one thing for certain is she loved her family beyond measure.
My heart is heavy, however, know that I was one of the lucky ones for being loved by her.
