I will always remember your mothers sweet loving ways. Such a wonderful smile and lots of talk about how everyone is doing and what they are doing. I will always love and miss her. You both were truely blessed with such wonderful parents. Thank you for sharing.

Aunt Offie was always such an upbeat person. She had many visitors, yet was always so welcoming to everyone! We always managed to have a good laugh when we were together, even through her time at Christian Park. She will always have a special place in my heart. I have wonderful memories of time spent with her and Uncle Harvey!

My sympathy to you all. My most treasured memory of your Mother is picking rasberries. She would call me to help fill the orders and we would spend hours talking even though I was only in high school.I think we were kindred spirits, she made a great impression in my life. Such a great lady..

    Dear Patsy and Bill,

My sympathy and love are with you at the passing of your mom. Aunt Aufie was a treasure in the life of my family. She was always so welcoming. During her good days at Christian Park she made me feel so good with her compliments on my hair, eyes, clothes and asking about all the kids. We would talk about everything from soup to nut bread to garden produce at the little farm on hwy 41.
It was an honor and a privilege to spend more time with Fia these past 6 months. And especially during her last days! May this woman with a great gift of hospitality rest in peace. I will miss her!
I am proud to be her niece thru marriage.

We remember “Aunt Offie” as she was always known to us. Everytime we got a chance to visit she always had plenty of hugs and lots of talking! She would make us her famous “Offie Bread” for us to take home (I wish I would have asked for her reciepe). She had lots and lots of stories to tell us of our family from the UP. We miss the many, many years of Thanksgiving dinners at the camp-our Dad (Neil) just loved those hunting days, and we couldn’t wait to visit everyone. Such great memories. Such a wonderful lady, we were privileged to know her.

I just wanted to let you know how sorry we are. Great Aunt “Offie” was always such a beautiful and sunny person. She was really one of a kind. I have so many happy memories of her. From her cooking to picking raspberries at her home, I will never forget what a joy it was to be around her.

I am sorry we will be unable to attend the services, but please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

God Bless you at this time and always,

Fia will never be forgotten. She was such a neat lady… I remember when she lived at Bay View and was a great friend of my Mom who was Georgina (Williamson) Soderstrom, Dowling. They grew up together on the Skeleton Road and went to school together at the Buckeye School. They renewed their friendship when they both became residents of BayView Manor. They wouldn’t go to any events there without each other. When Mom went into a nursing home when she was 92 (they were the same age), Fia still kept in contact with her by writing letters. Mom passed away at age 95… they will be together once again in heaven.

Our sympathy to you… Fia will be missed by many here on earth. She was such a neat lady!

    Bill:

Please accept our sincerest condolences. “Ma Fia,” as we liked to call her years ago, was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met in my lifetime.

Fia was such a wonderful & special lady. I was an aide to Fia a few years back when she lived at the Manor in Gladstone. We shared great laughs and lots of fun talks. Fia took great joy in helping me go through the details of planning my wedding…you can imagine her excitement when we pulled up in our wedding bus and all went in to see her. She clapped her hands in excitement and started to cry…I will always remember her saying, ” You took time to come and see me..I can’t believe it.” By the time we left, there wasn’t a dry eye in the party..including all the men and naturally, she lined us up for hugs and kisses…

THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!!! I have so many memories of spending time with you. Mom and I would walk over in the evenings and we would all go over to visit Grandma H. You were so easy to talk to and you took time to listen to me, as my mother would not. You really helped me through some of the toughest times in my life. Pat and Bill you were so fortunate to have your mom for 99 wonderful years. I know you will miss her terribly, but remember all the great memories and fun time you had with her and your dad. You know she will always be there with her. She will be a brilliant and caring angel looking over you and all of your family. When I look up at the stars I know she will be the brightest and happiest to be with your dad again. I even bet she will blinking at us to let us know she is there. Take comfort and know how much she was loved by all she came in contact with.
