Arthur “Black Jack Bob” Jasmund, age 69, of Escanaba passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020.

Bob was born September 3, 1950 to Arthur T. And Nellie M. Jasmund. He graduated in 1969 from the Lakeshore High School in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. He joined the US Air Force in 1970 and was stationed at Randolph Air Base in Texas and then overseas on the Island of Guam until a motorcycle accident forced him to spend his remaining four months at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio in 1974. Following his military service, Bob worked several factory positions including with P&H in Escanaba. While attending Bay College he met and married the love of his life, the former Ruth A. VanAcker. They were blessed with two fine sons, Jason in 1982 and Scott in 1989. From 1979 until 1992 Bob worked as a salesman, selling furniture, advertising and automotive chemicals all while photographing houses for insurance companies. In 1988 he started a career at the Chip-in Island Resort and Casino part time as a Black Jack dealer and continued there off and on until he retired in 2008. He was extremely proficient in pocket billiards and table tennis, winning many local and national tournaments. Bob and his wife are members of the Escanaba Free Lutheran Church.

Bob is survived by his wife of 42 years, his two sons and three granddaughters, Kennedy Ann,Amara-Rei and Sharla P. , three sisters, Debbie (Kevin Baldwin) Jasmund, Patricia (Clinton) Gressel and Rose Ann (Marvin) Hodgins and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie in 1997 and Arthur in 2009, a younger brother, Michael C. Jasmund in 1991, an older brother, John A. Jasmund in 2005 and an older sister, Jane Royer in 2014.

Memorial services for Bob will be held on Saturday, May 30 at 2:00 PM at the Escanaba Free Lutheran Church.

The Jasmund family is being assisted by the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba.
