Anthony “Tony” B. Kuchan, age 61, of Rapid River, MI, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 19, 2021.

Tony was born May 2, 1960, in Ensign, Michigan, the son of David and Gloria (Burch) Kuchan. He worked many jobs as a skilled mechanic, and also really enjoyed working on cars. He attended Bay de Noc Community College to receive his mechanic certification. Tony also is a United States Navy Veteran and was honorably discharged after four years. He was a very generous man who was loved and appreciated by many, and he will be greatly missed.

Tony is survived by his sons Darren Kuchan and Daniel (Catherine) Kuchan, brother Brian Kuchan, and sisters Dana Raspor and Nikki Herbst. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tony is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Mike Wunder and Jeff Kuchan, and sisters Sue Lefever and Sandra Kuchan.

Tony’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. A time of sharing will follow visitation at 2:30 PM until military rites at 3:15 PM led by the Gladstone American Legion Post 71.

    I am so sorry for your loss. Tony was a great friend in our school days and I always had a lot of laughs with him. RIP my friend.

    I remember looking out on 511 and seeing a hybrid cart with a snowmobile engine flying by our house and instantly knowing in was Tony. Creative and interesting would start to describe him. Sad that his health took a bad turn.

    I am sooo very sorry for your loss. I have known your dad since I was a little kid. I always thought of Tony as a brother that I never had. Unfortunately we lost contact through the years but, I often thought about him and Diane. My prayers go out to all of you and may God comfort you all.

    Tony was one of the nicest and most generous people I’ve ever known. I know he was suffering for quite some time and I’m glad his suffering is over but I miss him already. Love you Tony.

    So sad to hear about Tony. He was a great friend in my childhood. Unfortunately I lost touch with him over the years. I will always have such fond memories of our friendship and his fantastic talents. We will all miss him.
