Anthony “Tony” Sustarich, age 75, of Gladstone passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 25, 2020.

Tony was born January 9, 1945 in Lake Linden, Michigan, the son of Joseph and Jeanette (Saladin) Sustarich. He was a member of the Gladstone American Legion Post 71. He was active with the Sons of the American Legion, served with Color Guard and Honor Guard for over 25 years and helped maintain the Legion, Veteran’s Park and the Loan Locker for many years. He loved being outdoors and spending time at his place on the Escanaba River.

Tony is survived by his children, Tony (Stacy) Sustarich Jr., Peggy Sustarich, DeDe (Geric) Rose, Carrie (Luis) Saucedo and Trisha (Blake) Lieffers; 4 grandchildren, Taylor, Luis Jr., Jose, Hayden; siblings, Stephen (Pam) Sustarich, Fred (Sandy) Sustarich, Fran (Brenda) Sustarich and Ann Marie (Gary) Wernholm and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Joe and Peter Sustarich.

A celebration of Tony’s life will be held at the Gladstone American Legion Post 71 in June of 2021 and will be announced by the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Gladstone American Legion Post 71.

    Tony was an awesome guy! I have served along side of him in the Sons of the American Legion since he joined! He will be missed by so many! Such a loss to the family and all friends that knew him! Rest In Peace Tony! We will think of you often!
